  1. Please join us for a pre-screening of “Annie”, the high school musical this year, at the Mariemont Theater on Saturday, February 18th at 10:00 am starring Carol Burnett & Tim Curry. Concessions will be open (popcorn, the breakfast of champs!). $5 admission fee to benefit the Mariemont Fine Arts & FAB. 
  2. The 5th Annual Black History Month Poster Contest runs this month through March 8th. Posters entered into the contest should be an original design 18 x 24 inches in size and represent a message about African-American history, diversity, and/or embracing our differences. The winner of the contest will receive a $50 gift card for art supplies at Plaza Art in Kenwood and have their poster framed and put on permanent display in the high school.   3. Congratulations to the band members that competed in the OMEA District 14 Solo and Ensemble Contest this weekend. Out of our 11 events that competed, we had 9 “Superior” ratings (the highest rating possible) and 2 “Excellent” ratings (the second highest rating). The performers who received a “Superior” rating for solos were: Sarah Crabtree, Connor McManus, Jonathan Saxton, Chris Simons, Brandon Jacobs, Ryan Rine, Daniel Simons, Lakmal Ekanayake and the flute trio of Kendall Harden, Grace Fening and Sarah Crabtree. The performers who received an “Excellent” rating were Marie Schneider and the brass quintet of Max Long, Sam Long, Connor McManus, Michael Weston and Lakmal Ekanayake. Congratulations on fantastic performances. 
  4. Mrs. Thomas’ Focus 10 class should report to Mrs. Toepfer in room 7 every day this week for OGT Prep; Mrs. Toepfer’s Focus 11/12 class should report to Mrs. Thomas every day this week. 
  5. Mrs. McGahey’s classes should report to study hall today.
