1. Snowball tickets are on sale during lunch.  Tickets are $5 each.  No tickets will be sold at the door.

2. Mrs. Leszczuk is looking for juniors and seniors who are outstanding volunteers and would like to be nominated for the Simon Lazarus Human Relations Award.  Please see or email her by January 20th to learn all the details.

3. ChooseOhioFirst.org is holding a competition to redesign their web site.  The winners of the best design will receive scholarships for college.  If you are interested in participating in this competition for some potential scholarship money, please come to an information meeting in Mr. Becksfort’s room on Monday, January 23rd immediately after school.

4. Strong offensive and defensive board work by Elizabeth McCracken, Elizabeth Keller, Meredith Garrison, Haley Jacobs and Shelby Krimmer propelled the Lady Warriors to a 16 point victory at Finneytown last night.  Julia Whittelsey led the scoring with 24 points including 4 treys while Emma Griffith chipped in 10 and Abby Mathis added another 4.  The team travels to rival Madeira Saturday for a 1:30 tip off.  Action begins at noon with the JV squad.

5. There will be an AFS meeting next Wednesday at the Rookwood Don Pablos at 6:30 p.m.

6. Congratulations to our 2012 regional Scholastic Art Awards Winners.  Hundreds of students from Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky submit artwork to this regional and national art competition.  Our Mariemont High School Visual Arts Department is proud to announce that 16 students received awards this year.  They are:
Polly Brittingham, Rachael Colaw & Alli Lynch – Gold & Silver Key for Photography
Karyn Georgillis – Gold Key for Photography & Honorable Mention for Mixed-Media
Asher Koreman – Gold Key for Photograph & Honorable Mentions for Design & Digital Art
Megan Cash – Silver Key for Photography
Samantha Goheen – Two Silver Keys for Photography
Juliana Overbey – Three Silver Keys for Photography & Honorable Mentions for Digital Art & Photography
Sarah Blatt-Herold – Two Honorable Mentions for Photography
Emma Lindsey, Graham McCarthy, Hanna Reeder, & Michael Westion – Honorable Mention for Photography
Meggie Bailey – Silver Key for Mixed Media
Grace Lehman – Honorable Mention for Glass Design
Ashley Dockery – Honorable Mention for Digital Art
Their work will be on exhibit from February 3-17 at River Center Office Building in Northern Kentucky.  All 16 students will be honored at an award ceremony on February 10th at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.  In addition, our Gold Key winners will go on to compete in New York City at the National level later this year.  Congratulations to all our winners!
